Just thought I would remind the people who said prophecies has nothing. SF was added as, and counts as, an elite mission. It gets a Statue in the HoM like Deep and Urgoz and Mallyx. Catacombs is a nice idea but with GW2 around the corner it is unnecessary and unable to be incorporated into the game.

Sorrow's Furnace isn't very elite. Its not a dungeon or a mission but rather an easily accessible explorable area with some quests. Also, it takes far less skill to complete the quests in SF than in DoA or the elite missions.
I wouldn't call GW2 around the corner. The open beta begins sometime next year but it will take some time before the actual game is released. At the earliest I'd put GW2 on the market in Q3(its a good time for game releases) of '09. I think ANet is going to have to do something once in a while to keep people interested in GW1, which will in turn make them more excited for GW2. The weekend events are fun but most of the time people don't care much about them.

Sorrows furnace was elite back in the days before the new campaigns. Now it has been made a lot easier with the addition of new skills and heroes. (think of VwK in UW)
What we need is a new eilite area to spruce up prophecies a little. An elite area would do just that and it would give the old school gamers a nice sense of nostalgia.

It would be awesome but they wouldn't do it for EotN they would do it for GW2 where you would have to sneak into the charrs part of Ascalon and the Charr might have found a relic that does something with the dragons and the humans of Ascalon had to get it for some reason now that would be fun

I would love to return to the catacombs and take my non tyrian chars there. The guy who lost the moa/fought wurms was in post he can be seen in piken i think. But for a favorite of mine add Mary Malone into the cats. Maybe have here in a sactuary area deep in them raising wierd mutant apples.

I can see 'return to the catacombs' being one of the mini-expansions that Gaile suggested might be released between GW1 and GW2. Roll on nostalgic zombie-stabbing :P

Just as long as they don't reuse those Krytan undead models (they're everywhere >_>)
Bring on the level 28 gargoyles and skeletons.

Elona - DoA
Cantha - Urgoz/Deep
Tyria - Tombs/Sorrows Furnance <--- not quite as rewarding
Tyria - Catacombs <--- sounds very rewarding and fun

Do you honestly believe that anet will not release another expansion to gw before 2 comes out? I actually budget money out of my account(s) for that exact reason... it is like rain... it may not come for a month... but it always will.
